Cynthia Zamor Nérette is a Haitian-American painter whose artistic practice is shaped by a rich, transnational education spanning Haiti, Italy, Guadeloupe, and the United States. Rooted in Haitian visual culture while informed by a broader international artistic vocabulary, her work reflects the depth of an artist formed through movement, mentorship, cultural memory, and sustained studio practice.
Her artistic development has been guided by distinguished artists and educators including PASKO, Pascale Faublas, Mafalda Mondestin, and Yolanda Wood, as well as through her connection with Le Centre d’Art d’Haïti, one of the most historically significant institutions in the development and international recognition of Haitian art. These influences have contributed to a practice that is at once distinctly Haitian and confidently engaged with the wider contemporary art world.
Nérette has built an extensive exhibition record, participating in approximately twenty group exhibitions and presenting three solo exhibitions. Her work has appeared within major international art contexts, including Art Basel / American Art Pavilion Gallery in 2017, ArtBeat Miami in 2018, Archipelago in 2021, and Aqua Art Miami during Miami Art Week in 2022 and 2023.
